Book Sale on April 19, 2008
Friends of the Almaden Library
San Jose, California

The book sale setup on Friday afternoon went smoothly, and everything was ready for our Saturday morning opening at least fifteen minutes before the doors were opened at 9 o'clock.  It seemed that we had a good crowd as the day progressed, but there must have been a slightly smaller purchase per customer because the net profit at the end of the day was a bit lower than the prior two book sales at Almaden. Not that we're complaining, because we're very happy with the $2623 to give to the Almaden Branch Library.  We're also thrilled that Thrivent Financial offered to match 50% of our proceeds, and they were exceedingly generous with their $1600 which will also benefit the Almaden Library to allow more special programs, materials, and treats.  Take a look at these photos to see just how well-attended this sale was.

Many thanks to all of the Friends members who helped us get ready for this sale, who sorted the incoming donations and boxed them, who helped set up the room for sale day, and also the customers who came and bought the items for sale.  If you didn't make it to this sale, mark on your calendar to be sure to come to our next book sale on November 1st.
